Product Description LCD Technology - The VIZIO VW42L has significantly less reflection and glare which makes this television ideal in any room lighting situations. 178 Degree Viewing Angle - Our LCD HDTV's deliver a viewing angle of up to 178 degrees, resulting in crisp and clear pictures that are visible from any seat in the house. Brightness of 500 cd/m2 - Our LCD HDTV's have a higher average brightness across the screen, higher luminance at full white, wider dynamic range, and will achieve better black levels. 8ms Response Time - Vizio LCD HDTVs have super fast LCD response times which do not suffer from problems with image trailing and color distortion. 1366 x 768 HD pixels - Our HDTV's offer a HD resolution of at least 1366 x 768, which is more than 1 megapixel.

Great Tv Great Price September 21, 2008 buda (Mass) This is a great tv.Very clear picture no glare. I don't have High def hooked up yet but beautiful picture
Great lower end TV August 4, 2010 Nellybelly333 (Vermont) I have had this TV for two years and I love it. It has never presented any problems and has always run perfectly. It does not have as great of a picture as some of the $2,000 TV's, but what do you expect? Vizio is no Samsung or Panasonic, but they make a good TV.
Decent for the price December 8, 2008 jolly (Las Vegas) Bottom line...good picture and great with 3 HDMI connections as well as two component connections. Not the best quality out there but if you're looking for something for a bedroom or second room this would fit perfect.
Dead in a year and three months December 20, 2009 RonMSF (San Francisco, CA USA) I purchased this TV in September of 2008. Yesterday, I turned it on to have sound but no picture.
Tech support half-heartedly walked me through steps to diagnose, told me it was out of warranty and would cost less to replace than to repair.
Perhaps I'm spoiled - my last TV (different technology, admittedly) lasted 14 years. But I don't believe that the only choice after a little more than year of use should be to replace the unit completely.
I'll be replacing the TV with something other than a Vizio, and warning everyone I can to avoid this brand.
This IS 1080p NOT 1080i May 23, 2009 Shannara (Juneau, AK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you look on the box, manual, and the actual TV settings, this IS a 1080p TV. It is NOT a 1080i as listed on Amazon. Thought to clear up that confusion.
Also the PiP is fake. You cannot watch two different channels on it.
Next, (4/15/2010), the tv randomly turns itself off ... you would expect a tv to last at least a year .... DO NOT BUY.
